Mouth-paintings by Nancy Hall
Hello, here's a little bit about me!
I'm a proud mama of five amazing children, a Nana to one handsome grandson and beautiful granddaughter. Including, a great big family and a fantastic community that surrounds me with love.
On May 21, 2000 My husband and I were in a tragic motorcycle accident resulting in me becoming a full quadriplegic. Sadly, after the accident I divorced and thankfully got custody of my children. In September of 2002, I bought my beautiful home in the village of East Aurora, New York. With the help of caregivers, family and friends, I became very independent and started to paint.
My daughter was only five when the accident happened still needing help with school work. She often needed help with her cursive writing and the other children needed help with their homework as well. So out of desperation and frustration, I began to put a pen or pencil in my mouth to help with homework and sign my name.
The children would often paint or color pictures and I wanted to join in on the fun! One of my older sons suggested I start to paint my own pictures. So we devised a few different ways to paint. At first they were absolutely awful but as time went on I became better and better at art.
I applied to be in the MFPA and was accepted as a student in 2011. My art work has evolved and improved through various teachers and education. Now all my work goes to MFPA which can be purchased through them (www.mfpausa.com). Also, I'm a member of the Roycroft Arts and Craftsman Guild. Check us out at www.artsandcraftsmenguild.com!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but how we react.....
It’s not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life.
A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results.
Most people that are close to me know that one of my favorite bible verses is—Romans 5:3 and Proverbs 3:5
I love how King David was, he was a man after God’s own heart. He knew when he needed to repent, and he knew when he needed to just simply praise the Lord and most importantly he praised and trusted him no matter what.
